Mr. JOAN CARLES BLANCH I ANGUERA

          He was born in Darmós (Ribera d'Ebre), Catalonia-Spain, in 1958. He began his musical studies at school with piano and solfeggio. He has studied at the conservatoires of Reus, Castellón, Tarragona, el Liceo of Barcelona, Badalona, and Barcelona.

          He gets the following qualifications: Professor of Solfeggio, Tuba, Trombone of keys and Harmony and Composition.

          He has studied Tuba and Trombone of keys with Lluís Alcocer, Choral Conductorship with Manel Cabero, Analysis and fugue with Benet Casablancas, Composition and Orchestration with Harold Gramatges and Josep Soler and Orchestral Conductorship with Albert Argudo.

          He has assisted to different courses and lectures about the following subjects (selected from a vaster group): Aberasturi's Method with Miguel Ángel Querubito, Analysis with José Luis Castillo, Teaching of solfeggio with Xavier Boliart, Orchestral Conductorship with Bruno Membrey and Composition with Albert Sardà.

          He has published opusses in several editorials (Dinsic) and in the pedagogical field he has also given several lectures about Analysis and Music in the 20th century. He has worked as a professor at different schools, giving the subjects of Musical Languaje, Harmony, Choral Singing and Musical Ensemble, alternating all this, in several ocasions, with the charges of Headmaster and Chief os Studies.

          Since 1985, he is a collaborator of the "Revista Musical Catalana" (Catalonian Musical Magazine) issued by the "Consorci del Palau de la Música Catalana" (Association of the Palace of the Catalonian Music) in Barcelona as well as the specialized issue "A Quatre Veus" (With Four Voices). He has worked as a Delegate of the "Federació Catalana d'Entitats Corals" (Catalonian Federation of Choral Entities) in the province of Tarragona.

          He is member of the "Associació Catalana de Compositors" (Catalonian Associaton of Composers), as well as founder and present President of the "Col.lectiu de Compositors de Tarragona" (Collective of Composers of Tarragona). He has composed and staged several plays for different groups and he has made some recordings for  Catalunya Música and Radio Nacional de España, R-2.

          Nowadays, he is the conductor of the Coral "Santa Llúcia" (Choir "Saint Llúcia") and the Coral Municipal "Ciudad de Caspe" (Municipal Choir "City of Caspe"),  and he is working as a professor of Musical Language, Choral Ensemble and Harmony, being at the same time the Chief os Studies at the "Escola de Música del Perelló" (Baix Ebre), Catalonia-Spain.
